Dear Praying Brethren,
Greetings!
I failed to send a prayer letter to you about the bible conference
(camp) and the annual Pastors’ conference, which recently concluded. I
am writing, however, to ask your prayers for lasting blessings upon
those endeavors.

The bible conference was held from April 13 to 15. We had about 95
attendees not just from the church but also from sister churches in
Ozamis, Iligan, and Leyte. We dealt with the subject of Hell (4
sessions) and Heaven (3 sessions). The Lord so richly blessed each of
the messages. Moreover, we also really enjoyed gracious and mature
Christian fellowship one with another. Please pray that God would stamp
eternity in our eyeballs (to borrow Jonathan Edward’s words). May the
reality of hell and heaven continue to influence pervasively how we live
here on earth! May God particularly save the unbelievers who were with us!
Last week, we had the three-day annual Pastors’ Conference (April
25-27). We dealt with the subject - the doctrine of Scriptures in 12
sessions. Pastor Steve Hofmaier and I shared the ministry. We had four
sessions each day for three days. Seventy-five men attended from the
Islands of Visayas and Mindanao. We are very encouraged of the careful
and serious attention the men gave to the ministry of the word. Thus
far, we had the best group of men in one conference. The Lord really
came to bless the ministry of His word with much power. We are
overwhelmed with the testimonies of the men who attended as to how God
richly blessed them through the ministry of His word. Our prayer is that
God would continue to deepen the men’s appreciation and conviction of
the unmatchable value of the God-breathed Scripture, and that they will
more diligently study it, live it, defend it, and preach it.
We thank God for all the blessings He has poured out upon us recently.
Please pray for lasting fruit of these recently concluded ministries.
Yours in the bonds of Christian love and fellowship,
Pastor Jose Francis "Nene" Martinez
