The bible is the final and sole authority of all our beliefs
and practice. However, in order to facilitate open communication
of what we believe that the bible teaches,
the Revised 1689 Confession of Faith provides one of the most accurate
and comprehensive summaries.
Some of the most important things we believe and teach.
1.
|
The full inspiration and authority of the 66 books of the Bible as the
sole, infallible, and all-sufficient standard of our faith and practice.
|
2. |
That God is the creator and sovereign ruler of all - visible and invisible.
|
3. |
The essential deity and humanity of Jesus Chirst, His virgin birth, His sinless life,
His once for all substitutionary death, and His physical ressurection.
|
4. |
That Jesus Christ is the only savior and the sole mediator between God and man.
|
5. |
The present reign of Jesus Christ as the Messiahnic King, His priestly work in heaven,
and His future return to judge the world.
|
6. |
The necessity of the Holy Spirit's work in true conversion which involves true repentance and faith.
|
7. |
That eternal life is a free gift from God, on the basis of Christ's merits alone, and received by faith alone, apart from human merits.
|
8. |
That holiness of life is necessary evidence of true saving faith in Christ and that, 'no holiness, no heaven'
|
9. |
That the church is to be made up of solely of true believers in Christ who confess Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and who submit to His rule and authority set forth in the Scriptures.
|
10. |
That the gospel is to be proclaimed to all and that all are to be exhorted to repent and believe.
|
All Scriptures is inspired by God and profitable for teaching,
for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."
