Some churches pride themselves to be the only true church
of Jesus Christ. We do not hold to such an unbiblical notion.
Although we recognized that there are many false
and apostate churches, yet there are also many true
local churches of the Lord Jesus Christ. There is only
one universal church, yet this consist of all true local
churches which Christ purchased with His own blood (Acts 20:28).

The Sovereign Grace Bible Church of Cebu is an autonomous
church ruled by the risen Christ and the Holy Spirit through
the apostolic teachings preserved for us completely in the Bible.
However, we seek to be in fellowship with all true local
churches. Moreover, as far as a good conscience permits, we
also seek to engage in some cooperative efforts with other
true local churches.
As a local church, our task is to fulfill what Christ has
commissioned the church to do in the ability He promised to
supply. This includes:
- The worship of God;
- The preservation and propagation of God's Word;
- The nurture of God's people;
- The work of benevolence amongst God's people;
- The discipline of the unruly amongst God's people;
- The observance of the covenantal signs
-
Baptism & the Lord's Supper; and
- Prayer.

When the church gathers for worship, we come into the very
special presence of God to do what He commands us in His Word
to do in worship. Therefore, we seek to avoid a "party
atmosphere" in worship but seek to promote a climate of
joyful reverence throught the enabling of the Holy
Spirit.
As New Covenant priest and priestesses, and on the basis
of Christ's all-sufficient sacrifice for all the sins of all
His people in Calvary, we bring to God the spiritual
sacrifices He commands us to bring through Christ. These
spiritual sacrifices include a consecrated life, a broken
and a contrite heart, praise and thanksgiving, a portion of
our substance, and the insense of prayer. Moreover, we
also come to receive faithful instructions and admonitions
from God's Word through His appointed messengers.
